The Western Journal is looking to hire an Executive Editorial Assistant. The core function of this position is to provide a high level of professional support to The Western Journal’s editor-in-chief and Liftable Media Inc.’s chief executive officer. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail and meticulous work ethic.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties requiring independent judgment and analysis related to data gathering, report preparation, and special projects
  • Communicate professionally by phone, email and in-person with coworkers, external stakeholders, clients, readers, VIP guests, vendors, and others as required
  • Calendar and email management, including coordination, preparation, and follow-up for meetings
  • Handle travel preparations and management
  • Managing all business-related expenses
  • Coordinate events with external guests
  • Build an understanding of the overall flow of newsroom production and helping everything to run smoothly
  • An unpredictable amount of other random tasks that come up throughout the day
  • Coordinate building maintenance tasks including scheduling on-site visits for repair and upkeep as well as general maintenance including scheduling handymen
  • Serve as Receptionist, including such duties as restocking coffee niches and other supplies, in Receptionist's absence
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or a minimum of three years of similar experience required
  • Excellent written English, including good spelling and grammar
  • Familiarity with Google Chrome operating system and G-suite software
  • Digital media experience a plus
  • Legal work or knowledge of legal documents a plus
  • Meticulous work ethic and high attention to detail
  • Strong commitment, sense of responsibility, and trustworthiness
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Superior communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate well with others
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
